CIO Magazine Recognizes Firstsource As CIO 100 Honoree
Accolade Reflects Firm?s Leadership in Business Technology
Announcement / Corporate Jun 29, 2009, 20:41 IST

Firstsource Solutions, a global provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services, today announced it has been selected as an honoree for CIO magazine’s 22nd annual CIO 100 Awards to be held in Colorado Springs, CO. on August 23, 2009.  The 22nd annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

"This year's CIO 100 awards draws well-deserved attention to companies that are both innovating and creating business value with IT despite the economic downturn, " said Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief of CIO magazine & Events. "These winners are an inspiration to businesses everywhere."

Firstsource has been at the forefront of adopting new technologies and operational certifications to ensure that clients have the most secure and dependable networks to conduct their business. Firstsource was the first Indian BPO to be BS7799 certified and most of its operations centers are ISO 20000 and/or ISO 27001 certified. Firstsource has been recognized by CIO magazine as an early adopter of network and desktop virtualization. The entire virtualization of the Firstsource network was designed and architected internally. The adoption of virtual desktop technology and use of remote desktop support has enhanced the organization's business agility and enabled the company to resolve technical problems faster, increase responsiveness, improve failover/disaster recovery scenarios, as well as optimize infrastructure utilization and increase operational efficiencies.

“The current economic climate presents the unique challenge of helping companies cut costs and also support business expansion to newer, uncharted markets.  CEOs are demanding short-term benefits while helping them capitalize on long-term opportunities,” said Sanjiv Dalal, CTO, Firstsource.  “I am pleased that CIO magazine has chosen to recognize our technology leadership and expertise.”

Among this year's CIO 100 honorees are leading technology-savvy companies that are supporting today's most innovative and value-driven IT/business initiatives including business process management, enterprise architecture upgrades, database-driven and data warehousing projects, business intelligence, new and emerging collaboration tools, virtualization and customer-facing technologies involving everything from creative use of mobile devices to web-based services.  A team of 40 judges votes on the final 100.
