Cipla hits fresh 52-week high, gains 2%

The stock extended further gains and finally settled at 276, up 1.5%.The counter witnessed trades of 358,491 shares as compared to the two-week daily average traded volumes of 283,545 shares.

Cipla has advanced over 1% at Rs 275. The stock has gained after mid-day and touched a 52 week-high of  Rs 277.

The counter has witnessed trades of around 193,000 shares so far on the BSE.

Cipla has slipped in early trades even as net profit increases in FY09.

The stock opened flat at Rs 273 and 2% to a low of Rs 266. The stock is now near its low at Rs 269, down over 1%. Around 59,621 stocks have been traded on the counter on the BSE so far.

The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 275 yesterday. It is now trading 84% higher than its 52-week low of Rs 146.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the net profit has increased 10% to Rs 771.02 crore in the year ended March 2009 from Rs 701.04 crore. Net sales is up 24% at Rs 4,960.6 crore from Rs 4,010.38 crore.
