The fresh recruits to the class-II services like Orissa Civil Service (OCS), Orissa Financial Service (OFS) and Orissa Co-operative Service (OCS), Orissa Education Service (OCS) and Orissa Engineering Services will financially lose if the revised pay band suggested by the Fitment Committee is implemented.
The revised pay band as suggested for the freshers’ in the class-II services will be lower than the pay band suggested for the rank of the section officers and private secretaries working in the state secretariat. This is likely to create resentment among the class-II officers, sources said. Though the Fitment Committee report is yet to be placed before the cabinet for approval, sources said, some class-III and class-II officers have been bracketed in one pay band. Sources said, the Fitment Committee has recommended for 3 pay bands like 9,300-34,800, 15,600 -39,100 and 37,4000-67,000.The fresh recruits in the class-II and some class-III service have been bracketed in the 9,300-34,000.This disparity in the pay band is likely to create resentment among the class-II officers, sources added.
