| CM to hand out Rs 500 cr worth grants in Mysore |

Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will visit Mysore on March 3 to handover Rs 500 crore worth entitlements to one lakh beneficiaries of the district. At a programme planned on the Maharaja’s College Grounds, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the day-long ‘fair’ on which the district officials are busy planning the details.
Besides distributing benefits under various schemes, the chief minister will also lay foundation stone for some projects. A big contingent of ministers and senior officials of the state are expected to take part in the fair, the arrangements for which were reviewed by district in-charge minister S A Ramadas at an official meeting on Tuesday.
He said beneficiaries will receive entitlements under various schemes of the departments including those of agriculture, horticulture, Dr. Ambedkar Development Corporation, Backward Classes & Minorities Development Corporation, and Cauvery Area Development Authority (CADA). Benefits sanctioned under handicapped and old age pension schemes will also be handed over to the beneficiaries at the programme to last till evening after inauguration by Gowda.
Besides various departments putting up their stalls, Ramadas, who is the Health Minister, said there will be a temporary hospital with all facilities at the grounds. Bus arrangements will be made to bring beneficiaries from all the taluks. At least 3,000 beneficiaries will be selected from each taluk to receive the entitlements.
Deputy Commissioner P.S.Vastrad directed all the Tahsildars and Panchayat Executive Officers to prepare a list of beneficiaries and schemes which need to be inaugurated or for which foundation stone to be laid on that day.
