Coffee N U to launch 50 outlets across India

Domestic retail coffee chain 'Coffee N U' is planning to launch 50 outlets across India by March 2010 coupled with computer gaming zone 'Oovaa'. The company plans to market its coffee and computer gaming product combination primarily in tier-II and tier-III cities to attract urban youth.

Coffee N U has recently launched an outlet in Pune city after a launch in Nagpur and Bangalore. Promoted by Nagpur-based Valiant Automations, the coffee chain would launch outlets in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Nashik and other tier-II and tier-II cities. The firm expects to draw a large number of customers with the addition of computer gaming zone 'Oovaa' along with serving of hukkas.

Speaking to reporters, Valiant Automations Managing Director Shashank Jha stated, "We have a wide variety of offerings at ‘Coffee N U’ like 40 specialty coffees, 7 types of tea and 15 different types of iced coolers along with 15 flavours of Hookah. Some of the other important features we provide at the coffee shop are a small library, cellphone and laptop charging points and free wi-fi connectivity.

The firm will immediately add one outlet each in Bangalore, Nagpur and Pune followed by a store launch in Hyderabad. ‘Coffee N U’ would come in various formats like the standard format and the lounge depending on the locations and target audience. The Pune outlet has a combination of standard and lounge format having comfortable low height seating along with vibrant interior.

"We are also introducing ‘Oovaa’, the high end PC gaming zone on the floor above ‘Coffee N U’, which has a factory like ambience, each station is equipped with a 32 inch LCD monitor, high configuration computers and special gaming chairs with force feedback to enhance the gaming experience," Jha added. Out of the 50 new proposed outlets, 25 would company owned while the rest would operate on franchisee model.
