The stock gave up some of its gains and finally settled at Rs 653, up around 1.5% from the previous close. Around 70,410 shares have been traded on the BSE today.

Colgate Palmolive has soared 3% after the company has recently posted a massive surge in the consolidated -net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The company recently registered a 43% surge in the consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30,2009 to Rs 103 crore as compared to Rs 72 crore in the corresponding quarter, a year ago.

The revenue for this quarter has also increased 15% to touch Rs 468 crore as compared to Rs 408 crore a year ago.
