| Commercial vehicles' Aug sales up 37% |

Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today reported a 36.86 per cent growth in its total sales of Eicher trucks and buses in August at 2,443 units against 1,785 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales increased by 32.70 per cent to 2,094 units, compared to 1,578 units in the same period a year ago, the company said in a statement.
Exports for the month grew by 68.60 per cent and stood at 349 units compared to 207 units last year.
Sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market during the month also went up by 34.41 per cent to 1,609 units, against 1,197 units in August, 2008.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales also recorded a jump of 6.77 per cent at 158 units against 148 units in August last year, it added.
