| Copper, nickel down on global cues |

Weak conditions prevailed on the wholesale non-ferrous metal market today as copper and other base metals lost ground in line with overnight losses in the international market.
Trading sentiment remained weak as base metals weakened in global market yesterday after an unexpected jump in weekly US jobless claims.
Copper prices fell sharply by 1 per cent at the London Metal Exchange.
Traders said besides, sluggish demand from consuming industries also put some pressure on the prices.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were slipped further by Rs 2 each to Rs 371, Rs 390 and Rs 349, while nickel (4x4) also seen in negative zone with a loss of Rs 5 to Rs 875-989 per kg.
