| D-Link, a networking company has opened its new R&D centre at Electronic City, Bangalore. It will focus on converged IP solutions, business routers and gateways and wireless products for Indian and global markets.

| The new R&D centre was inaugurated by N Balakrishanan, associate director, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in the presence of K R Naik, executive chairman, D-Link India Ltd.

| This is the second R&D centre for the company in Bangalore and fifth worldwide. Its other three R&D centres are located in Taiwan, US and China.

| Spread over an area of 8,077 square metres, the new R&D centre can seat more than 500 employees.

| “D-Link India Ltd is among the very few Indian IT companies involved in designing and developing its own products besides manufacturing, marketing, distributing and supporting its products,” Naik said.

| The existing R&D centre in Bangalore and the manufacturing unit in Goa have evolved products in networking, VoIP, and convergence products.
|
| |
| “These two centres focus on system design, hardware, software design and development as well as product tests and validation. The centres also develop protocol stacks and libraries that go into these products,” said company MD Jangoo Dalal. |
