Dabur India to invest Rs 180 crore for new manufacturing facilities

FMCG major Dabur India Ltd is planning to invest around Rs. 180 crore to set up two manufacturing facilities— one at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh and second one in Egypt by March 2011.

The company is also planning to set up third manufacturing facility in Bangladesh.

Speaking to Business Standard, PD Narang, Group Director, Dabur India Ltd, said, “As part of our expansion plans, we are planning to set up two manufacturing facilities at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh and another one in Egypt at a total investment of Rs. 180 crore. We are also in the process of chalking out plans for our third manufacturing facility in Bangladesh.”

“Our proposed plant in Baddi, which will be spread over 27 acres, will be operational by March 2010 and investment in this plant will be around Rs. 150 crore. Existing range of our products will be manufactured there,” he added.

“Investment in our proposed Egypt plant is estimated at around Rs. 30 crore and this plant is expected to be operational by March 2011,” Narang said, but avoided divulging more details in this regard.

“We are also in the process of chalking out plans to set up third manufacturing facility in Bangladesh,” he said, but declined to disclose any financial details.
