Delhi and Chennai Metro projects will get new fundings from Japan next fiscal as budget receipts tabled in Parliament today indicate loans of Rs 7,575.54 crore in 2009-10, against Rs 3,916.85 crore in FY09.

The other projects to get funding from Japan are Hyderabad Outer Ring Road, Guwahati Water Supply Project, Kerala Water Supply Project, Hogenakkal Water Supply Project and Fluorsis Mitigation Project.

As many as 57 projects are being implemented with ODA's assistance from Japan worth 985,499 billion yen.

Earlier in January, the nodal agency for giving ODA loans, Japan International Cooperation Agency, had indicated increased assistance for various development projects in India.

JICA's Chief Representative in India Irigaki Hidetoshi had told PTI that it had no plans to reduce targeted loan amount for India and assured of more new loans in 2009-10.

The other countries, which provides overseas development assistance to India are Russia, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Italy and Germany.
