Electrosteel Castings, Mangalam Timber, Ramkrishna Forgings Q3 results
BS Reporter / Mumbai January 23, 2007
Electrosteel Castings PAT shoots up 176%

Electrosteel Castings’ PAT (profit after tax) surged 176 per cent to Rs 29.49 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2006, while EBIDTA shot up 86 per cent to Rs 56.83 crore. The company’s sales rose 52 per cent to Rs 300.82 crore.

The rise in sales was driven by 61 per cent surge in sales volume of DI pipes in overseas markets. Electrosteel officials said the enhanced geographical revenue diversity would impart stability to the company’s revenues and provide cushion in downturns in the domestic segment. Electrosteel has also benefited from the backward integration in its coke oven, sponge iron and 12 mw power facility at its Haldia plant last year.

The benefits of higher sales volumes and improved cost efficiencies were duly reflected in the rise in EBITDA margin at 18.9 per cent from 15.5 per cent in the corresponding previous quarter.

Mangalam Timber net up at Rs 1.65 cr

BK Birla group company Mangalam Timber witnessed a jump in net profit to Rs 1.65 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2006 compared with Rs 1.1 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2005.

The turnover of the outfit also rose from Rs 12.25 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2005 to Rs 19.1 crore in the corresponding quarter of the current fiscal.

Ramkrishna Forgings net profit rises 60%

Rankrishna Forgings’ net profit increased 60.48 per cent to Rs 3.98 crore, while profit before tax increased 58.51 per cent to Rs 5.96 per cent in the third quarter ended December 31, 2006.

It recorded 39.55 per cent increase in gross sales/income from operations largely on the back of increase in exports.
