Entrepreneurship Guru John Mullins joins Myntra Board as Independent Director

Myntra - www.myntra.com – India’s largest on demand Personalization Company has announced the appointment of eminent professor, author and entrepreneurship Guru – John Mullins - to the company’s board of directors effective September 01, 2009. John will join in the capacity of an Independent Director on the Myntra Board. This development is significant as Myntra is the first company in India that John has decided to get involved with at the Board level.

Commenting on this appointment, Mukesh Bansal, CEO - Myntra said, “Myntra has steadily worked towards creating a personalization culture in India. The faith reposed by visionaries like John in Myntra strengthens our belief in the concept and it’s potential. This is a great addition to our Board and will bring a new level of strategic thinking, global benchmarking and international exposure.”

An alumnus of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, John is currently serving as Associate Professor of Management Practice at London Business School. He is also a regular visiting professor at the Indian School of Business, where he teaches executive education courses on venture capital and private equity investing in India. He is considered an authority on entrepreneurship and is actively involved in a number of start-ups as mentor and advisor. Speaking on this John said, “I am particularly excited about joining the Myntra board and helping Myntra’s world-class management team achieve their very ambitious objectives.”

John has authored two books on the subject of entrepreneurship – The New Business Road Test - the definitive work on assessing entrepreneurial opportunities and his newest, just launched book in India - Getting to Plan B: Breaking Through to a Better Business Model - with noted venture capitalist Randy Komisar. John has written more than 50 articles and case studies in prestigious global journals including Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. He was recently named one of 2009’s top ten rising business gurus by Thinkers 50 which profiles the world’s top business thinkers.
