EPIC Energy today said it has acquired Tamil Nadu-based SRS Engineers, manufacturer of power saving switches, for an undisclosed amount.
The company has acquired the entire business of SRS Engineers, a boutique power electronics and energy conservation firm, EPIC Energy informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The acquisition makes synergistic sense to EPIC Engineers as street light controllers and power saving switches form an integral part of its product portfolio, it added.
This is the third acquisition made by EPIC Engineers in the last two quarters after acquiring energy devices manufacturer in Por, Gujarat and Bangalore-based Hydrogen Infrastructures.
SRS Engineers' P Sampathkumar would take over as head of research and development of EPIC and R Senthilkumar would head the south India operations.
The current projects in hand bagged in the first quarter of 2007-08 by SRS would now be executed by the company which translates into an immediate business of Rs 1.75 crore.
Shares of the company was trading at Rs 110, up 0.59 per cent on the BSE.
