Digital imaging solutions provider, Epson, is aiming at garnering Rs 180 crore revenues from its interactive projector – EB-450wi – from the domestic market in the first year of launch.
Announcing the launch of EB-450wi in the Hyderabad market on Tuesday, Epson India manager (consumer products) SM Ramprasad said their idea was to hit at least 500 schools in India in the next six months.
The EB-450wi can project onto any existing whiteboard, wall or hard surface. It also features a digital infrared pen that allows users to write with ‘virtual ink’ on the projected area, manipulate interactive on-screen objects and features, or use it as a computer mouse. The interactive projector comes with a price tag of Rs 1.86 lakh.
Ramprasad said Epson currently enjoys a leading 21 per cent share of the global projectors market and 13 per cent in India. It has embarked on a 10-city ‘nSolution’ programme through which it was aiming at reaching out to about 2,000-odd systems integrator partners in the country in a couple of months.
