Era Infra bags Rs 118 cr project from Aravali Power
Press Trust of India / New Delhi May 22, 2009, 18:01 IST

Construction firm Era Infra Engineering today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 117.84 crore from Aravali Power Company for developing a permanent township at the Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project in Jhajjar, Haryana.

"The company, through its construction and contracts division, has secured a contract worth Rs 117.84 crore from Aravali Power Company to construct a permanent township at the Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project, Jhajjar," Era Infra Engineering said in a statement here.

The project from Aravali Power Company, a joint venture of state-run NTPC, Indraprastha Power Generation and Haryana Power Generation, would be completed within 24 months, it further said.

According to the company, the project cost is excluding the cost of cement and steel.

This is the second time that Era Infra has bagged the contract from Aravali Power Company. Earlier, in July 2007 it had secured a Rs 285 crore contract for the construction of main plant and offsite civil works package.

The Jhajjar plant once commissioned will generate and supply 1,500 MW electricity and NTPC estimates to complete the project during the eleventh plan period.

Shares of Era Infra closed at Rs 86.90, down 0.74 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
