Esource launches online employment exchange for small towns in Gujarat
BS Reporter / Mumbai/ Ahmedabad Aug 19, 2010, 00:00 IST

With the shift of industrial activities to smaller towns creating major job opportunities in these areas, Esource India has launched the country’s first private employment exchange today for the youth from smaller towns and cities in Gujarat.

“The job recruitment market in India is set to grow at 20 per cent annum and touch the Rs 2000 crore mark in five years from the present Rs 1000 crore. The country’s manufacturing sector was growing at eight to ten per cent, expecting to generate 0.5 million employment opportunities alone,” Nitin Deveshwar, Managing Director, Esource India, said.

Esource India is a subsidiary of ESMS (I) Pvt. Ltd., which is a security company with nationwide operations and a full service recruitment agency powered by an online database combining social networking and traditional recruiting.

“With the number of youth joining the India workforce increasing from about 40 million currently to 160 million in the next ten years, we want to ensure that we meet their emerging employment needs by having our pan-India presence through sales offices and franchisees,” Deveshwar added.

He further said since there are higher job opportunities following industrialization in Vapi, Anjar and Bharuch in Gujarat, Raipur, Bilaspur and Korba in Chattisgarh and Haridwar and Rudrapur in Uttarakhand besides other small towns in the country, Esource India would now become an effective platform for such industries to connect to potential employees from such towns and cities.

The online placement agency will use the social networking model to ensure potential job seekers remain members on the portal and keep updating their profiles in order to let potential job providers know their intentions i.e. whether they are looking for a job or are happy with their current one.

“Esource India portal is designed to link candidates to thousands of employers while also giving them the opportunity to learn and network, enabling them to showcase their personality through videos and psychometric tests. The easy to use portal will make it possible for job seekers even in small towns to gain access to jobs that are available either in the industrial hubs or in the areas closer to their home,” said Geeta Suthar, Director, E-Source India.

Esource India, which has 28 sales offices located throughout the country, is now focused on building its franchisee network.
