| ESS implements an economical & secure VPN at Wadpack |

Ltd., one of the leading corrugated box packaging manufactures in India. Wadpack has been running the web-enabled ebizframe, the flagship ERP solution from ESS for almost a decade now. Wadpack has also outsourced their entire IT to ESS.
According to Mr. Anil Bakht, Chairman & Managing Director, ESS, “Wadpack was looking for linking its two major locations (the head office at Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore and factory at Doddaballapur, Bangalore) and roaming users through a secured connectivity. We have successfully implemented a Unified Threat Management (UTM) based secured VPN providing Wadpack secure VPN connectivity between multiple locations while running the ebizframe ERP through centralized live server. This, in fact, worked out to be extremely cost-effective as well.”
The UTM was sourced from Watchguard, one of the leading security products and solutions company, and implemented by ESS in association with Medley Marketing, one of the largest Watchguard Secure Partners in India, based at New Delhi. Medley Marketing has an exhaustive experience of about three decades and has rich expertise in IP-based security solutions like UTM.
For the uninitiated, the term UTM denotes network firewalls that contain multiple security features like e-mail spam filtering, an intrusion prevention system, anti-virus capability and Internet filtering in addition to the functions of a traditional firewall, all in a single box. All these security features otherwise would require 2 or 3 boxes and therefore, it reducing system complexity and cuts down on costs and time overheads for an enterprise. Besides the ease of maintenance, training and support also comes from a single vendor who’s supplied the UTM box. A single window solution helps reduce the hassles associated with managing multi vendor security systems.
