Ethanol-diesel blending plant set up near Nagpur
Press Trust of India / Nagpur Jul 20, 2009, 13:03 IST

The Purti Group of Companies headed by Maharashtra BJP President Nitin Gadkari has set up a ethanol-diesel blending pump here.

The pump was inaugurated by former RSS chief K C Sudarshan on Sunday at Bela, about 50 kms near here. Purti Group recently got the government nod to go ahead with the blending project.

"Seven percent ethanol has been permitted to blend with diesel. Besides 0.05 percent solubliser addictive will be added to make the alternative fuel," Gadkari, said on the occasion.

This facility is the first in private sector and second in the country, the first being run by the Karnataka State Transport Corporation (KSTC), he shared.

Purti Group has tied up with Energics Private, a Singapore company for supply of 'solubliser addictive'. The blended mixture is known as 'Enerdiesel Solubliser'.

The company has decided to sell ethanol-diesel blended fuel at Re 1 less than the prevailing market price of the produce to the farmers from the adjoining areas.

Gadkari said in foreign countries like Brazil, 75 percent ethanol was blended with 25 percent petrol and there was no air pollution.

This unique fuel is eco-friendly and all the vehicles of group will now run on blended fuel, he added.

Former MP Banwarilal Purohit presided the function.
