Exide Industries has extended the service profile under its BAT Mobile service to provide help to stranded cars on the roads ahead of the forthcoming monsoons.
Exide said in a release issued here that the Bat Mobile service would be delivered by trained personnel who would arrive within 30 minutes of being called.
Exide vans would be placed at strategic locations in Kolkata to help out stalled cars and could now be contacted through central communication centres with dedicated telephone lines to receive calls from stranded motorists.
This service would be free of charge and would be provided irrespective of the brand of battery fitted in the car.
The service would be available from 7AM to midnight on all days at the number (033) 2284-4564/4570, said P K Kataky, director-automotive of Exide.
"This service is part of our endeavour to provide car owners with a service which is unparalleled irrespective of the make of their battery", he added.
Bat Mobile was currently available across 32 cities of the country and would be extended to more cities in due course of time.
