'Expect W-shaped recovery for real estate market'
BS Reporter / New Delhi/ Chandigarh Oct 12, 2009, 00:34 IST

Samir Chopra, Director India operations for the US-based RE/MAX, a reputed world real estate franchising network, has predicted a ‘W’ shaped recovery for the real estate market in India.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference, Chopra said although the real estate market in India of late was showing signs of revival, the recovery could be ‘W’ shaped as the market could see another dip in next 3-6 months before finally bouncing back.

The real estate market was showing signs of revival, especially in Mumbai and National Capital Region (NCR), he said cautioning that short term investors should stay away from the real estate market as of now and only investors with broad outlook should invest in it.Samir Chopra, was here to announce launch of RE/ MAX operations in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchklula.

He added that with the aim of organising the real estate brokerage industry in Punjab and Haryana, RE/MAX had launched their master franchise network from Mohali by appointing Jarnail Singh Arora and Jaspal Singh as the Master Regional Franchisees for RE/MAX CMP (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula) region. RE/ MAX that started their operations in India in April 2009 has expanded their operations to 10 regions across the country.
