First indigenous 'KEYS hotel' from Berggruen Hotels starts in Thiruvananthapuram

The wait is finally over, Berggruen Hotels’ first boutique budget hotel prototype under the brand name KEYS is now operational in the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram.

The hotel has 101 state of the art rooms and 2 suites with cutting edge technology. The facilities in the room include Wi-Fi, LCD televisions, a refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, iron and iron board, direct dialling facilities, Comfy-beds, duvets, writing table with ergonomic chairs and refreshing power showers with modern bathroom fittings.

The Hotels will also have a contemporary café named KEYS CAFE serving world cuisine including local favourites , a restobar – UNLOCK with gaming stations and pool table, a top quality gymnasium with a view, a business concierge and board rooms and a 100 persons function room. Secure women’s rooms for single lady travellers with video screening facilities for additional security and CCTV in all public areas with limited access elevators only through room key cards ensure security of all guests to the hotel.

Modern and stylish yet budget only in terms of price makes this new hotel a trend setter in the hospitality industry particularly due to consumer demand for value for money and quality accommodation in the country.

Sanjay Sethi, Managing Director and CEO, Berggruen Hotels, speaking on the occasion to national press remarked in the presence of Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Honourable Minister of State, External Affairs, Government of India, “It’s my pleasure to proudly present KEYS Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram. Our first greenfield mid-market hotel is now ready to welcome its guests in Thiruvananthapuram. The city’s natural beauty will just add to the charm of the hotel. Also this will mark the beginning of the KEYS brand in the world”.

Besides KEYS hotel, Thiruvananthapuram, which is its Greenfield project, two other KEYS hotels and resorts are already open at Lonavala and Hyderabad. This financial year will also see four other KEYS Hotels and resorts opening at Ludhiana, Mahabaleshwar, Bangalore and Jaipur.

About the company
Berggruen Hotels, a venture backed by Berggruen Holdings Inc, New York launched a new brand called “Keys” in India in January 2007. The company was formed with the intent of focusing on budget and mid-market hotels, resorts and service apartments across emerging markets around the globe.

Berggruen Hotels will build and operate many more hotels in the next five years in India and shall go on to spread its brand globally. The company will be managed by a top management team headed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sanjay Sethi. Mr. Partha Chatterjee, Chief Marketing Officer. The senior Management team also includes Mr. Arif Khan,  Director - Human Resources; Mr. Atul Lall, Chief Operating Officer - International Division & Wholetime Director:; Mr. Alex Joshi, Director – Operations; Mr. Biju Raj, Director – Projects and Ms. Akhila Balachandar, Director – Finance.
