F&O: Nifty July futures end at 14pts discount

The Nifty July futures ended at a discount of 14 points at 4,334 as against the spot Nifty which ended at 4,348 (up eight points). Around 644,948 contracts were traded today. The open interest increased by 698,600 shares to 23.03 million shares.

NIFTY CALL ACTION

The Nifty 4,500 Call ended at Rs 133, and 89,869 contracts were traded on the NSE. The Call added 110,500 shares to open interest (OI). The 4,400 Call saw trades of around 80,045 contracts and the 4,600 Call saw trades of around 78,992 contracts. While the former saw a net addition of 63,450 shares to total OI of 1.7 million, the latter added 153,900 shares to toal OI of 1.95 million.

NIFTY PUT ACTION

The Nifty 4,000 Put ended at Rs 84, and 67,482 contracts were traded on the NSE today. The Put added 395,900 shares in open interest to 2.96 million shares. The 4,300 Put saw trades of around 62,083 contracts and the 4,200 Put saw trades of around 60,621 contracts. While the former saw a net addition of 367,800 shares to OI, the latter added 431,900 shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK FUTURES

Reliance July future was the most active stock future with trades of around 36,899 contracts. The July future ended at a premium of Rs 12, at Rs 2,016. The contract today added 487,800 shares. Total OI now stands at 6.51 million shares. Tata Steel and ONGC were the other active stock futures. While Tata Steel OI declined to 14.21 million shares on reduction of 35,144 shares, ONGC which ended at Rs 1,129 (Rs 5 premium) saw a net addition of 705,375 shares to 3.17 million shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK OPTIONS

Reliance July Rs 2,160 Call was the most active stock option with trades of around 2,621 contracts. The Call ended at Rs 61 with 431% jump in OI at 388,200 shares, it added 315,150 shares today. Reliance Rs 2,100 Call and Tata Steel Rs 400 Call were the other active stock options. Reliance Rs 2,100 Call added 14,700 shares to total OI of 135,950 shares. It ended at Rs 81. Tata Steel Rs 400 Call saw a net reduction of around 104,668 shares to 732,676 and ended at Rs 32.60.
