F&O Update: Nifty July fut at marginal discount

The Nifty July futures is trading at a marginal discount of eight points at 4,350 as against the spot Nifty which is trading at 4,358 (up 33 points). Around 182,234 contracts have been traded so far. The open interest has increased by 1.94 million shares to 23.28 million shares.

NIFTY CALL ACTION

The Nifty 4,600 Call is trading at Rs 106, and 23,336 contracts have been traded on the NSE so far. The Call has added 122,800 shares to open interest (OI). The 4,500 Call has seen trades of around 23,183 contracts and the 4,400 Call has seen trades of around 21,719 contracts. While the former has seen a net addition of 260,000 shares to OI, the latter has added 173,550 shares.

NIFTY PUT ACTION

The Nifty 4,200 Put is trading at Rs 140, and 27,250 contracts have been traded on the NSE so far. The Put has added 212,250 shares in open interest. The 4,200 Put has seen trades of around 19,983 contracts and the 4,300 Put has seen trades of around 17,379 contracts. While the former has seen a net addition of 112,800 shares to OI, the latter has added 144,750 shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK FUTURES

HDIL July future is the most active stock future with trades of around 16,295 contracts. The July future is trading at a marginal discount of Rs seven, at Rs 242. The contract today has added 3.72 million shares. Total OI now stands at 15.13 million shares. GMR Infrastructure and Tata Steel are the other active stock futures. While GMR Infrastructure OI has risen to 30.28 million shares on addition of 4.04 million shares, Tata Steel which is trading at Rs 289 (Rs 17 discount) has seen a net addition of over 380,000 shares to 14.06 million shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK OPTIONS

Reliance July Rs 2,190 Call is the most active stock option with trades of around 1,195 contracts. The Call is trading at Rs 69 with 136% jump in OI at 227,250 shares, it has added 131,100 shares so far. Reliance Rs 2,100 Call and Tata Steel Rs 400 Call are the other active stock options. Reliance Rs 2,100 Call has added 31,050 shares to total OI of 164,550 shares. It is trading at Rs 106. Tata Steel Rs 400 Call has seen a net reduction of around 65,704 shares to 744,900 and is trading at Rs 29.
