F&O Update: Nifty July Fut OI adds 2 mn shares

The Nifty July future ended at marginal discount of 2 points at 4,389 as against the spot Nifty which ended at 4,391 (up 15 points). Around 484,528 contracts were traded on the NSE today. The open interest increased by 1.98 million shares to 23.64 million shares.

NIFTY CALL ACTION

The Nifty 4,600 Call ended at Rs 108, and 93,723 contracts were traded on the NSE today. The Call added 541,050 shares to open interest (OI). The 4,500 Call saw trades of around 71,039 contracts and the 4,400 Call saw trades of around 60,468 contracts. While the former saw a net addition of 248,400 shares to OI, the latter added over 269,900 shares.

NIFTY PUT ACTION

The Nifty 4,200 Put ended at Rs 120, and 53,048 contracts were traded on the NSE. The Put added 14,400 shares in open interest. The 4,300 Put saw trades of around 46,012 contracts and the 4,000 Put saw trades of around 36,623 contracts. While the former saw a net addition of 120,350 shares to OI, the latter added 142,450 shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK FUTURES

GMR Infrastructure July future was the most active stock future with trades of around 41,592 contracts. The July future ended at a marginal premium of Rs 2 with its spot at Rs 149. The open interest saw net addition of 1.12 million shares to 26.63 million shares. Reliance and HDIL were the other active stock futures. While Reliance OI declined to 6.24 million shares on reduction of 159,150 shares, HDIL which ended at Rs 262 saw an addition of 263,394 shares to 12.85 million shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK OPTIONS

Reliance Rs 2,100 Call was the most active stock option with trades of around 1,792 contracts. The Call ended at Rs 116 with an addition of 32,550 shares in OI at 137,250 shares. Tata Steel Rs 400 Call and Reliance Petroleum (RPL) Rs 150 Call are the other active stock options.Tata Steel Rs 400 Call added 10,696 shares to total OI of 818,244 shares. It ended at Rs 25.75. RPL Rs 150 Call saw a net addition of around 609,700 shares in OI to 1.35 million shares and ended at Rs 1.95.
