F&O Update: Nifty July futures at 9pts premium

The Nifty July futures ended at a premium of nine points at 4,384 as against the spot Nifty which ended at 4,375 (up 134 points). Around 563,000 contracts were traded today. The open interest increased by 2.89 million shares to 24.08 million shares.

NIFTY CALL ACTION

The Nifty 4,500 Call ended at Rs 143, and 98,916 contracts were traded on the NSE. The Call added 361,050 shares to open interest (OI). The 4,400 Call saw trades of around 63,900 contracts and the 4,300 Call saw trades of around 53,200 contracts. While the former saw a net addition of 534,550 shares to OI, the latter added 352,000 shares.

NIFTY PUT ACTION

The Nifty 4,000 Put ended at Rs 64, and 64,015 contracts were traded on the NSE today. The Put added 431,150 shares in open interest. The 4,200 Put saw trades of around 55,400 contracts and the 4,300 Put saw trades of around 51,100 contracts. While the former saw a net addition of 303,200 shares to OI, the latter added 660,000 shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK FUTURES

Reliance July future was the most active stock future with trades of around 40,519 contracts. The July future ended at a premium of Rs 16, at Rs 2,040. The contract today added 511,350 shares. Total OI now stands at 6.51 million shares. HDIL and Tata Steel were the other active stock futures. While HDIL OI rose to 12.65 million shares on addition of 2.16 million shares, Tata Steel which ended at Rs 375 (Rs 12 discount) saw a net addition of 1.63 million shares to 14.15 million shares.

MOST ACTIVE STOCK OPTIONS

Tata Steel July Rs 400 Call was the most active stock option with trades of around 2,050 contracts. The Call ended at Rs 23 with 133% jump in OI at 807,548 shares, it added 460,692 shares today. Reliance Rs 2,010 Call and Reliance Rs 2,100 Call were the other active stock options. Reliance Rs 2,010 Call added 31,500 shares to total OI of 141,600 shares. It ended at Rs 141. Reliance Rs 2,100 Call saw a net addition of around 38,000 shares to 106,650 and ended at Rs 98.
