What’s the first thing you look for in a gadget?
It should be bright, innovative, versatile and feature-packed with forward thinking solutions and with the latest technology. Funky inventions catch my fancy.

Is there any gadget magazine or website you read regularly and take tips from?
Yes, I check www.gearlog.com and www.gadget.co.za from time to time.

Tell us about a gizmo that you found to be overpriced for its features.
The Porsche Design Phone P9521 that I bought for Rs 77,000 is overpriced. It is unique, with fingerprint recognition for security, but does not have any other unique feature to justify the cost.

Which gadget would you like to gift somebody, and why?
I would love to gift Vertu mobile phones. They have an impeccable design, exquisite leather body, and are available in four elegant colours, with metal options as well. It’s the design element that differentiates them from the Nokia constellation.

Does any gadget still puzzle you?
The Denon amplifier system. It is one of the most complex gadgets I have ever used. I studied the manual, looked it up on the Web, and consulted many friends before I was able to integrate it with my home theatre.

Tell us about a gizmo you think is overrated.
The iPhone, because despite not being user-friendly, it is overpriced. Nokia phones are better and priced cheaper.

Which gadget are you planning to buy next?
The MapmyIndia/Delphi Nav 300. This GPS gadget uses satellite communication to determine your current location, so you know your location and where you are headed. In addition, you can even load and play your favourite movies, music and view photos. It is a must-have gizmo for travel buffs.

What was the last gadget you bought, and what do you like about its features?
That would be the Wii. I love the motion-sensitive Wii Remote. It is the heart of Wii’s innovation. It makes playing games on Wii more absorbing, engaging and interactive and, at the same time, simplifies games down to a level that allows even non-gamers to play. My dad never played tennis, but he is a good Wii tennis player and loves to play tennis on Wii with my daughter.
