Future Brands sees 50% revenue growth
Press Trust of India / New Delhi Aug 12, 2010, 15:35 IST

Kishore BiyaniFuture Brands, a part of the Kishore Biyani-promoted Future Group, today said it expects revenues to grow by 50 per cent every year as it expands the range of labels under its belt.

"We are expanding the range of brands in the existing categories that we are present in. Also we are trying to fill gaps by introducing new labels at different price points," Future Brands Managing Director and CEO Santosh Desai told PTI on the sidelines of an event organised by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade here.

Future Brands, which is responsible for creating independent brands for the group besides providing third party brand consultancy services to other corporate houses, currently has a turnover of Rs 1,600 crore, he added.

He said the company is looking for bringing more brands in the FMCG segment.

"We find some opportunity in the FMCG space and we will be introducing new labels in areas such as food and personal care with an intention to make those brands independently strong," Desai said, but did not elaborate.

In the food and home care segment brands, the firm currently has brands, including Tasty Treat, Premium Harvest, Fresh & Pure, Care Mate and Clean Mate.

Desai said Future Brands is also planning to enhance the portfolio in the apparels segment.

"We are set to launch an inner wear label, which is also a very promising category," he said.

The company has brands like John Miller, Lombard, Bare, DJ&C, Buffalo and RIG in fashion and apparel space.

Desai also said the company may look at growing brands independently, like the way it has done for 'John Miller', by opening standalone stores for the brands.

"The total topline from these brands is currently about Rs 1,600 crore and we are very bullish on them because they have the potential of becoming really strong," he said.

On third party consultancy, Desai said the segment has a revenue of Rs 8 crore now, through services provided to companies like Godrej Sara Lee (now renamed Godrej Household Products Limited), Pepsi, Titan, MTS Mobile and GSK Consumer Healthcare.

"There are other five six mainstream players in the service industry and in FMCG that we are currently working for," he said without divulging details.
