"The completion of the laying of the pipeline from Asansol to Durgapur is a significant milestone achieved by the company and gives access to new market opportunities for GEECL," company President and Chief Operating Officer Prashant Modi said in a press statement here.
The 77.47-km pipeline connects its CBM fields to Kulti, Asansol and Durgapur.
"With the production potential of the license no longer in question the focus of the business has increasingly moved towards sales, marketing and distribution," he said.
GEECL said it is currently testing the section between Raniganj and Durgapur.
The pipeline, which is capable of carrying up to 35 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, is part of a vertically integrated network consisting of drilling, production, compression, transportation and distribution services, the statement added.
I got a chance to talk with geecl's personnel and observed that "it's 2nd best CBM field in india". The facies, depositional condition and tectonics that very much favorable for storing gases. i must appreciate the geologists of that organization because of their achievement so far. Being a oil reservoir engineer its very difficult to do analysis in CBM basins also while controlling underbalance drilling. Great Job ! keep it up
Good luck, kasi
