Jewellery makers Gitanjali Gems today reported a decline of 6.29 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 150.58 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, over the same period in the previous fiscal.     

The company had a net profit of Rs 160.69 crore in the same period ended March 2008, Gitanjali Gems said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The board of directors of the company proposed a dividend of Rs 1.80 a piece for the year ended March 31, 2009.     

Shares of Gitanjali Gems were trading at Rs 113.40 on the BSE, up 1.57 per cent from its previous close.
