GlobalLogic successfully absorbs India captive of UK Software Company
Announcement / Corporate Jun 08, 2010, 19:37 IST

Wins Software R&D Contract with Global Graphics

GlobalLogic, Inc., the leader in global software R&D services, announced that it has successfully completed a captive transfer from Global Graphics Software, a leading developer of e-document and printing software. Global Graphics has transferred its India software engineering operations to GlobalLogic as part of an overall strategy to enhance its market growth in 2010. By partnering with GlobalLogic, Global Graphics expects to achieve both a higher level of innovation and significant cost savings over the contract period.

GlobalLogic has absorbed Global Graphics’ former India employees into its existing Pune development center and is providing the firm with product development and quality assurance services. GlobalLogic will also provide all HR, IT, finance and operational processes going forward.

“This captive transfer engagement is a win/win situation for everyone involved,” said Ajmal Noorani, Chief of International Business, GlobalLogic. “We win by partnering with an industry leader and by adding high-quality people to our Pune center. Global Graphics wins by gaining access to GlobalLogic VelocityTM, our distributed development platform and toolset, and through reduced costs, improved operations and greater innovation. Our new Pune employees win by gaining opportunities to learn and grow in a global software R&D firm that has a strong HR framework and attractive benefits.”

According to Forrester Research in Shattering the Offshore Captive Center Myth, mounting issues such as attrition and rising staffing costs are disabling the productivity and cost-effectiveness of owning a captive development center. By partnering with an outsourcing specialist like GlobalLogic, which has nearly half of its expansive workforce based in India, Global Graphics will retain the benefits of an offshore operation while minimizing management workloads.

“Our partnership with GlobalLogic enables us to reduce costs through service level-based expenditures and airtight operational processes,” said Gary Fry, CEO, Global Graphics Software. “It also positions us for further growth as we aggressively develop our new gDoc product line by giving us access to GlobalLogic’s proven R&D methods, technologies and expertise. We expect to see significant productivity and quality benefits from this partnership.”
