Arnab Mallick / Kolkata December 08, 2005
Globsyn Business School (GBS) will be launching its post graduate diploma in business management (PGDM) programme for executives early next year.

R C Bhattacharya, director, Globsyn Technologies Ltd said, "We will finalising the details the modalities by this December. The programme might take off by February 2006."

GBS would be taking in 30 executives in the first batch, he noted. He said international B-Schools have expressed their interest for collaborative work with GBS.

"Around six international B Schools have approached us joint programmes and other possible collaborative work. We have yet not decided on this but is a possibility," Bhattacharya added.

GBS said it was running joint programmes with Jadavpur and Calcutta universities.

GBS was working on a post-graduate diploma programme in sales and retail management in association with Jadavpur University, he added. Meanwhile, 40 out of total 125 final year MBA students have received placement offers from companies including IMRB, Metal junction, Bajaj Allianz amongst others.

"Around 40 final year students have received final placement offers. The highest offer till now has been Rs 3 lakh per annum with average salary offer being around Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. These figures would record higher values once the placement is over," he claimed.

HDFC Bank, IFFCO Tokyo, Tata Motors, Amul, Ambuja Cements, Peerless, South Asia Petrochem, ING Vysya were among the major companies who recruited students from GBS last year.

The highest offer last year was Rs 3.5 lakh per year whereas the average salary offered was Rs 2.7 lakh per year. GBS has no plan to increase its student intake immediately.
