Gmail No.1 E-mail Service in India
BS Reporter / Mumbai Oct 12, 2009, 11:05 IST

Gmail is the most popular e-mail service among Indians, followed closely by Yahoo Mail and a few other local players. According to ViziSense, an online audience measurement and analytics platform, Gmail had more than 18 million unique users in September as against 16.8 million users who used Yahoo Mail.

The popularity of Gmail has been steadily growing month-on-month, as indicated by the increasing number of unique users accessing the site, reasons  the Vizisense web rankings report. During September, Gmail witnessed an increase of almost 3% in traffic compared to the previous month. Yahoo! Mail on the other hand, saw a decline of 8% whilst MSN Mail experienced an increase of nearly 6% in traffic since August.

Mohan..which village are you accessing Gmail from? LOL!

I just don't understand these numbers... GMAIL has been un-accessible most of the times when you need it the most. Their email service is never reliable in the recent past. There were 3 downtimes in past month or so... I still wonder why people think Gmail is the best!

You should be a crack to say Gmail is unreliable. In fact any downtime of Gmail is an international news. It is the most user friendly mail ever made. If you are not on gmail then you are not an email user. You are just a survivor.
