Against an income of Rs 3 lakh recorded by Tikarpara Paribesh Paryatana Samiti, the local community in this project last year, the revenue for this year stood at Rs 1.2 lakh in the form of bookings in only24 days. Most of the bookings this year are from West Bengal.

The eco-tourism programme was launched on November 7 and it will continue till the end of March. Eco-tourism or nature camps are being organised from 2006 at Tikarpara of the Satkosia forest region. There are ten spacious tents called nature camps which have been built on the river bank of Mahanadi at Tikarpara.

Each of these tents has double beds with toilet and water supply facilities. Besides, catering facilities are also provided for the visitors. For a 24 hour stay in the camps beginning from 11am, an adult is required to pay Rs 550 for a package which includes food.
