The Sensex scaled to a new all-time intra-day high of 9521, and is now up 127 points at 9517.
ACC and Grasim have extended gains, and are now up 3.4% each at Rs 548 and Rs 1,422, respectively.
HDFC, Maruti, Dr.Reddy's, Gujarat Ambuja and ITC continue to remain firm.
Reliance has moved up by 1.7% to Rs 914. Wipro also has spurted by 1.7% to Rs 469.
HLL and ONGC are up 1% each at Rs 197 and Rs 1,206, respectively.
Out of a total of 2,579 stocks traded on the BSE so far, 2,115 have advanced, 421 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
