Granules, GSK Cons & Indo Gulf results

Granules Q3 net up 63% to Rs 2.7 cr
 
Granules India posted a net profit of Rs 2.72 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, an increase of 63 per cent as compared with Rs 1.67 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. Gross sales rose 6 per cent to Rs 39.04 crore (Rs 36.79 crore).
 
Gross sales for the nine-month period ended March 31 climbed 16 per cent growth at Rs 101.41 crore (exports accounted for 85 per cent of total sales) as compared with Rs 87.64 crore posted in the corresponding previous period, according to a press release. Profit after tax (PAT) increased to Rs 6.46 crore (Rs 5.85 crore).
 
GSK Cons profit up 35% to Rs 26.4 cr
 
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) has registered a 35.2 per cent growth in profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, at Rs 26.4 crore. Sales rose 7.1 per cent to Rs 254.3 crore.
 
GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare managing director Nick Massey said in the release: “Our in-house cost reduction programme is beginning to yield returns and we look forward to re-investing these monies to build our brands”.
 
Indo Gulf net down 37% to Rs 57 cr
 
Indo Gulf Fertilisers has seen a 36.93 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 56.93 crore in the financial year 2004-2005 against Rs 90.27 crore last fiscal.
 
The company had received arrears to the tune of Rs 47.02 crore as retention price support in 2003-2004 according to the then pricing scheme.
 
The net sales stood at Rs 678.35 crore compared with Rs 578.52 crore in 2004-2005, up by 17.25 per cent. The other income declined to Rs 20.37 crore (Rs 26.04 crore).
