Great Eastern Shipping Company today said its consolidated net profit declined by 67.96 per cent to Rs 94 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009, over the same period last year.

Total income declined to Rs 795.9 crore for the quarter ended December 31, from Rs 1,043 crore in the same period last year, Great Eastern Shipping Company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

On the standalone basis, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 75 crore for the October-December quarter, down 68.75 per cent over the year-ago period.

Shares of Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd were trading at Rs 279.40 on the BSE, down 1.20 per cent from its previous close.
