Network engineering and IT services company GTL Ltd reported a decline of 40.40 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 35 crore for the quarter ended June 30, over the same period last year.
The company had a net profit after tax attributable to consolidated group of Rs 58.9 crore in the same quarter ended June 2009, GTL Ltd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income rose to Rs 614.5 crore for the April-June quarter, from Rs 510 crore for the same quarter previous financial year. On the standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 22.4 crore in the April-June period, down 48.50 per cent over the same period last year.
The selling and marketing expenses rose to Rs 16.67 crore in the current quarter from Rs 13.43 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
