| Guj Cong eyeing ministerial berths for its MPs |

The Gujarat Congress, which won 11 out of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in the recently concluded polls, is hopeful of some of its MPs getting ministerial berths in the new Government.
Although the party's tally in the state was one less this time, as compared to the 2004 general election results, top leaders of Gujarat Congress are expected to visit high command in New Delhi to delibrate various combinations of ministers, party sources said.
In 2004, three MPs from the state Congress, which had won 12 seats against BJP's 14, were made ministers in the UPA government in the Centre.
Indicating that Gujarat MPs are likely to get ministerial berths this time also, a senior leader said, "we have relatively young MPs who have been elected by the people. There are 6-7 names which we think can make a good ministers."
Some of the names doing rounds include Dinsha Patel, a two-time MP from Anand Bharatsinh Solanki (56) and Tushar Chowdhary (44) from Bardoli constituency.
"We cannot divulge anything now, as the final decision will be of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. It is not that we are pushing for some candidates, but the ministers are decided looking at the overall combination," party spokesperson Arjun Modhvadia told PTI.
