The leadership “in Guj Inc is more power-based or position-based than performance-based,” according to an Ahmedabad-based management expert.
“They drive the company because of power and their employees hardly take them as a leader or mentor, which affects the company's productivity. Since ownership and commitment is missing in an employee, every morning there tends to be a crisis in the company,” said management expert Shailesh Thaker.
Seconding his thought, Germany-based management training and personality profiling expert Monika Borchard said freedom of communication was a must at workplace.
“Not just top-down, but communication has to be both ways. The leaders should show confidence in their employees so that they can freely offer positive feedback,” she said. Borchard was in Ahmedabad for a top executives’ training programme.
