| Gujarat may get trauma centres in 2 years |

The one day awareness workshop on accreditation of hospitals and health providers organised by FICCI, Gujarat and NABH, a constituent board of Quality Council of India witnessed the state health minister Jaynarayan Vyas announcing his plans to roll out trauma centres across the state in next two years. Addressing a gathering at the event, Vyas emphasised on adaption of quality care in the state as well across the country. "Concept of quality care should be taken care, just now – quality care, today, just now", he said.
According to him, his next major initiative would be to provide trauma centres across the state. "We target to provide trauma centres at a regular distance of one and a half kilometres and hopefully two years down the line we will have network of trauma centres across the state," he said.
Pankaj Patel, chairman of FICCI-Gujarat said, "Quality was a moment that we started sometime back in India under QCI and FICCI has been part of this movement right from the inception, when this Council was formed." He further said that the major challenge that we see is to bring the current level of services to the next level by adopting the accreditation of hospitals and develop systems to ensure that this quality is maintained.
The workshop was conducted to offer and impart greater degree of knowledge and insight over the subject of accreditation in hospitals and healthcare sector by NABH. Expert faculties like Dr Girdhar Gyani, CEO-NABH, Secretatry General QCI, Dr Parag R Rindani- Corporate Head-Medical Services, Sterling Hospitals, Dr Anil Kumar Mulpur, Vice President & Clinical Director of Narayana Hrudayala, Hyderabad, gave lectures and expressed their views on the norms of accreditation of hospitals and talked about their practical applicability.
