Public sector Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has posted a 27 per cent increase in net profit to around Rs 1,500 crore in FY08. Revenues rose 11 per cent to Rs 8,350 crore, as per the provisional results.
The robust growth in net profit has been attributed to higher deliveries of aircraft. Manufacturing activity has grown rapidly, according to top ranking company officials.
The company said that the robust financial growth could be attributed to rise in the production of Su-30, Jaguar, aero engines, etc.
HAL had received orders worth Rs 23,315 crore including orders for 159 advanced light helicopters during the year. The total order book of HAL today stands at Rs 45,100 crore. It recorded an EPS of Rs 125.
The defence major is planning a capital expenditure of Rs 600 crore in FY09, while the figure in FY08 was Rs 450 crore. A spokesperson of the company said during FY08 the company managed to wipe out its total debts.
