Incat, a Tata Technologies company that provides engineering services outsourcing (ESO) and product development IT services, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have announced a joint venture creating Incat-HAL Aerostructures Ltd.
Both companies will have equal stake in the JV which aims to position itself as a leader in the engineering and design of aerostructures.
HAL has already signed a similar JV with Hyderabad based engineering design services provider Infotech Enterprises with an aim of tapping significant opportunities in the defence offset sector.
According to M Fakruddin, Director - Corporate Planning and Marketing, HAL, the objective of the joint venture is to undertake work packages related to engineering design services in aerostructures.
The JV would also undertake captive offshore and on-site workload of partners from aerospace OEMs, and will help global aerospace suppliers in meeting their offset obligations, he added.
The JV will be based out of Bangalore.
