| Haryana CM hails Rail Budget; says it's for common man |

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hailed the Railway Budget 2009-10 presented by the Union Railway Minister, Mamta Banerjee in the Parliament today and described it as pro-poor budget which especially cared for the farming community, women youth and the common man.
In a statement issued here today, Hooda appreciated that Haryana would be covered under the Western Corridor project aimed at setting up mega logistics hubs thus giving boost to economy in the State.
The proposal to set up cold storage cargoes would immensely benefit the farming community, he added.
Hooda said that the proposal to implement an innovative scheme known as "Izzat" to give concessional ticket of Rs 25 to those with monthly salary under Rs 1,000 would benefit the poor.
He appreciated the proposal to deploy doctors on long distance trains and women commandoes for the security of women passengers.
He also appreciated other proposals including introduction of ladies special trains during peak hours, high-capacity double decker AC coaches, "Turant" (Non-stop) trains to connect major cities, automatic vending vans to be set up to make ticketing easy, computerised ticketing from post offices,SMS update on waitlisted tickets and automatic train information system on major cities.
