The Haryana government will consider giving approval to DLF, the country's largest real estate firm, for developing a Rs 1,703-crore recreation and leisure project in Gurgaon.
"The sub-committee formed for assessing the technical specifications of bids will now recommend the name of DLF which is the qualified bidder for the leisure project in Gurgaon to the state government for its consent," an official of Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) said today.
DLF emerged as the sole bidder for the 350 acres project after the bids of other parties -- Unitech and Malaysia-based Consortium comprising Country Heights, Country Club of South Africa and Rajarhat IT Park -- did not qualify on technical grounds, the official said.
"The bid of Unitech was disqualified because its partner was found ineligible for developing the project, while the bid of the third party did not qualify because the net worth of the Malaysia-based company (Country Heights) was less than the required amount of Rs 500 crore," he said.
The qualified bidder DLF has quoted its bid at Rs 12,000 per square metre against the reserve price of Rs 11,978 per square metre for the project.
