| Mumbai, August 13, 2007: HCC, India’s leading Construction and Infrastructure Development Company has bagged the prestigious Rs.415 crore water tunnel project from the Municipal Corporation of Brihanmumbai. The company has received letter of acceptance for BMC for construction of tunnel from Maroshi to Ruparel College.

| The tunnel will replace the old upper Vaitarna and Vaitarna mains in this section and will improve the water supply to Vakola, Mahim, Dadar and Malbar Hills. The tunnel will be laid underground by digging a shaft 90 feet deep and then excavating the tunnel horizontally using the tunnel boring technique. It will connect the existing Ruparel College to Dr. E Moses road tunnel that supplies water to Malabar Hills. It will be completed in 2012 and will supply 1100 million liters daily.

| This the second major order bagged by HCC from BMC for water tunnel construction. Last month the company bagged work order for Laying 15.7 km long water main pipeline from Jamboli to Chinchwali. On completion, this pipeline will bring additional 378.54 million Liter of water per day (mld) and is expected to be completed in next 45 months.

| HCC has played a major role in building the water supply system for the city of Mumbai. The Viatarna Dam built in the early 1950’s started an era in construction of concrete dams. Asia’s largest water treatment plant at Bhandup has been constructed by HCC. It is also responsible for constructing two supply tunnels delivering 455 mld drinking water to the city of Mumbai.
