The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda today said it will upgrade all its existing models to meet Bharat Stage-III emission compliant norms by the end of this financial year.
"All bikes will be upgraded to BS-III by March 2010... some models already meet the norms, while the rest will be changed with some minor modifications," Hero Honda Motors Managing Director Pawan Munjal told reporters on the sidelines SIAM annual convention here.
The company is also looking to launch a model which will be priced lower than its least expensive bike (100cc segment).
"We have been seriously thinking for a low-priced product but very high in performance. Our engineers along with those from Honda are working on this," Munjal said.
In the ensuing festive season, he said the company is confident of selling over six lakh units that it had sold in the same period last year.
