| HMT(I) plans tool room for SMEs in Zimbabwe |

HMT (International) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HMT Limited has set up a modern tool room-cum-common facility for the development of small and medium enterprises for an investment of Rs 23 crore at Harare Institute of Technology (HIT), Harare in Zimbabwe.
The project has been commissioned as a gift to Zimbabwe from India. HMT(I) has installed various high tech machines like CNC lathes, CNC wire-cut EDM, CNC milling machines, automatic plastic injection moulding machines, tools and computers at HIT, Bulawayo Polytechnic, Bulawayo, Small Enterprises Development Corporation (SEDCO), Chitugwiza and, Small and Medium Enterprises Services Institute (SMESI), Harare, a press release said.
HMT(I) has also installed highly-sophisticated printed circuit board training an manufacturing plant at HIT and launched a website for SMESI. HMT(I) has also trained 19 Zimbabwean faculty in India and are deputing 19 experts to Zimbabwe for imparting on-the-job training.
The company has set up technical training centres of excellence in many countries including Mauritius, Maldives, Senegal, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Mozambique, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
