Hyd start-up sees business opportunity in ads on cars
BS Reporter / Chennai/ Hyderabad Apr 12, 2011, 00:53 IST

Car AdvertisementsGoing by an upstart company’s business model, cars are no longer just a comfortable mode of transport but one more medium of outdoor advertising — one that promises eyeballs to advertisers better than a mere hoarding.

Hyderabad-based Carpaisa.com, which has started its operations in the city, claims to be the first company in the South to offer advertisement services on cars.

“We already have 5,000 cars registered with us in the last two months through our online presence” says Ram Mohan, managing director, carpaisa.com.

After registration, the car owners would get advertising if and when their vehicle is chosen by any advertiser based on relevant parameters. The ad would be booked for a duration of one to six months, while the tariff would be in the range of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the car, amount of space used, distance and areas covered.

The ads would be wrapped on the car printed on vinyl sheets. The company claims that its car wrap advertising model benefits both car owners and companies. "Car owners get paid for advertising on their cars and companies get a new medium to promote their products and services," it said in a press release.

Ram Mohan says the new medium is cost-effective, innovative and influential compared to other forms of outdoor advertising. "Carpaisa’s mission is to promote both small and big brands and act as a platform to connect with their customers," he says. Registration is free and can be done on the company website.
