The government should accord infrastructure status to the power sector similar to sectors like telecommunication and housing, to help the country meet its power requirements, the electrical and electronics manufacturers have demanded the government.
In its pre-budget memorandum to the ministry of finance, the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) said that the government has identified power as one of the most important infrastructure sectors as mentioned in the Economic Survey.
